Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King Is Here

The wait is finally over; after a little over 4 years, The Dave Matthews Band latest album is here. Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King’s release has been one of the most anticipated albums by the DMB ever. The initial buzz, from a musical standpoint, began when a small video clip of Why I Am leaked, and received a positive reaction from fans. As the listening parties grew, more songs got more positive press, and the buzz roared.

Any thoughts of a disappointment because of the previously attempted songs being aborted quickly died after the First show of the Spring tour. The three new songs,Funny The Way It Is, Why I Am, and Spaceman all received positive reaction. In fact, all the songs are well received.

After the June 1 Beacon show, only a handfull of songs remain to be played. And live music is how this band is known. But how good is Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King? Well, we’re pretty pleased with it. 

DMB Confirmed for Austin City Limits Festival

For once, the rumors are true: Dave Matthews Band is playing Austin City Limits Music Festival. The announcement became official late on April 27, according to official site. Pearl Jam and The Beastie Boys are the other 'top acts' listed, but the entire lineup is fantastic. The event is October 2-4, and tickets are available via the Austin City Limits site for now, but after DMB's official site announces it, there will surely be more options to purchase tickets.

Summer Tour Dates 

With the announcement of the 2009 summer tour dates also comes some bad news.  The release of the newly named album will be delayed until June 2.  This year's tour will be promoting the new albums.  This may defy the reason of the spring tour, but no one will care for a few extra show this year.

This summer's tour will be bringing back some great venues, like Boston's Fenway Park, and will introduce some unheard of venues.
